Wielka strata.

I’ve started writing a simple GUI wallet for , in (), with local storage as a database.

Sources are currently available at gitlab.com/KrzysiekJ/ercoin-wa . Every commit is automatically deployed to krzysiekj.gitlab.io/ercoin-wal . For now, there’s only account (keypair) management, without persistence and connectivity.

the anticapitalist.party's hosting bill has been paid. it should be back pretty soon i hope.

i'd like to take this moment to apologize for the downtime but also to chuckle at the fact that the anticapitalist.party didn't pay a bill.

Good news, everyone! We're Oracle

and we're desupporting Java 8 in September 2018 and we're also introducing a Java 9 BUT DON'T INSTALL IT SERIOUSLY DON'T INSTALL IT

because THEN in March 2018 we're introducing Java 18.3 BUT DON'T INSTALL THAT ONE EITHER because it's not Long Term Support, that won't be until September

exactly as your Java 8 goes no more security patches and

We're Oracle, and let's just say we want to watch the world burn.

There is an article advocating that that “The only safe is text-only email” ( theconversation.com/the-only-s ). Why don’t the authors advocate also that “the only safe web page is text-only page”?

Perhaps the real issue is the verification of message authenticity, not the format used. If I cannot trust that an email originates from, let’s say, my bank, then why should I bother reading it and potentially following links at all?

whois (dig +short gitlab.com) | grep OrgName | sed 's/OrgName: *\(.*\)/\1/' returns “Microsoft Corporation”

Analogous command applied for status.gitlab.com returns “DigitalOcean, LLC”.

Despite of that, both sites are down now, with the former returning 500 and the latter 502. According to people on Twitter, it is not the first outage in the recent time ( twitter.com/gitlabstatus/statu ).

Another argument for decentralized repository management.

’s website is now live: ercoin.tech . Crude on purpose, as it’s aimed at providing information and targeted primarily for potential contributors, not for broad audience yet.

Today I learned that box model in is neither intuitive nor consistent. Margins of child elements may propagate to their parents due to margin collapsing rules. There seems to be no standard way to disable this behaviour, but it disappears in some circumstances, in particular if the parent has non-zero padding set. Therefore setting a padding to 1px can impact element’s positioning, much more than by 1px.

Yes, Google Uses Its Power To Quash Ideas It Doesn't Like

gizmodo.com/yes-google-uses-it

I asked the Google people if I understood correctly: If a publisher didn’t put a +1 button on the page, its search results would suffer? The answer was yes. ..

I published a story headlined, “Stick Google Plus Buttons On Your Pages, Or Your Search Traffic Suffers,” ..

I was told by my higher-ups at Forbes that Google representatives called them saying that the article was problematic and had to come down.

Issue 17 of the “Inspire” magazine puts train derailment instructions inside a section labeled… „Open source ”. In usual circumstances, publishing attack methods would allow fixing holes. Why is it not a problem for terrorists? This is explained on the attached “advertisement”.

Wczoraj przyznano tegoroczne nagrody Zajdla. Uhonorowano:

• opowiadanie „Wywiad z Borutą” (Łukasz Orbitowski, Michał Cetnarowski);
• powieść „Czterdzieści i Cztery” (Krzysztof Piskorski).

Podobnie z buspasami i finansowaniem z podatków państwowego transportu zbiorowego.

"We're having a problem sending email out of the department."

"What's the problem?" I asked.

"We can't send mail more than 500 miles," the chairman explained.

I choked on my latte. "Come again?"

"We can't send mail farther than 500 miles from here," he repeated. "A little bit more, actually. Call it 520 miles. But no farther."

I’ve established two bounties for -related development:

• 120 BLK for adding a ( Flavoured ) lexer to : github.com/jneen/rouge/issues/ . This will add LFE syntax highlighting to GitLab (and to GitHub Pages).
• 125 BLK for fixing a bug with plugin in erlang.mk: github.com/ninenines/erlang.mk . This will ease testing.

We no longer need to import terrorism into this country... it's already here. We let it in. We didn't just let it in but embraced it.

We have a culture that is both anti-white and anti-west. Children grow up in this country, taught to have white-guilt and to hate the west. Because of this, it doesn't surprise me that we have people turning to radicalised groups that seek to harm us. Youth that are taught to hate themselves, and by extension to hate their country and humanity in general. It's easier for them to believe that they are the bad guys and must atone for it, and that groups like ISIS must be right if that's what the society around them agrees with too. That the west is evil. What do you do about evil?

@KrzysiekJ Tryton follows the principles of FSF much more closely. Cédric and the core devs can be blunt and have low tolerance for top posting in discussions...however they are very responsive and accept contributions based on merit and technical correctness. Refreshing to those who have tried to contribute to Odoo as "outsiders"

@KrzysiekJ The Odoo/OpenERP/TinyERP project has a sketchy track record with respect to the free software community. It has made a deliberate decision to move away from the Libre model to a semi-free open source model closely associated with the founding company's "freemium" business model. Contributor's code is routinely rejected if it doesn't directly serve the interests of that business regardless of technical merit.

How inhibits development:

⒈ I submit a one-line bugfix.
⒉ Maintainer responds (after over 9 months) that he’s willing to merge it, but I need to sign a newly introduced CLA; otherwise he’ll merge it under his name.
⒊ I refuse to sign and point that if the change is copyrighted, then merging it under his name would violate the copyright. I suggest to adopt ’s policy in that matter.
⒋ Pull request is rejected.
